On the 17-th and 18-th of December 2011 NINO BERNARDO held another seminar in Sofia at the invitation of Bojidar Stanchev from Kung-fu Centre "Xuangui". The purpose of the workshop was to reveal the strategies and techniques of Bruce Lee's favourite wing tsun technique - "sticky hands".
Wing tsun "sticky hands" are practiced on their own or in combination with other styles. If you are practicing other forms of martial arts, sticky hands give and enrich you with qualities without clashing with your fundamental practice.
hb Nino Bernardo ushers in the scientific method of teaching and explains the practice of martial arts through the outlook of a physicist, a mechanic, an engineer and an architect without omitting the mysticism and the essence of Antiquity.
In spite the fact he is 65 years old, he is brimming with energy and original ideas. His seminars are very fun, full of jokes and interesting stories, and the most fascinating thing to the participants is his ability to present them as acting scenes.
hb Nino Bernardo is a martial arts teacher with Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish roots who has been teaching wing tsun for 40 years (he is the student of Wong Shun Leung - a direct continuer of the school of the great Yip Man)
hb Nino Bernardo is a cosmopolitan person - jazzman, master guitarist, he can speak 6 languages perfectly, a fight scene choreographer, a scriptwriter, a director of TV commercials for world brands, he has taught to famous actors and musicians and to specialists of military structures and the police.
He has been a mentor and teacher to problematic teenagers in a nationla British programme. He is the founder of the sport Soccerball which has had tournaments of it held. He is and erudite person in whose company the smiles never fade from the faces of those present. He travels all over the world teaching his students in Italy, France, the USA, Sweden, Bulgaria, Spain, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Austria and Hungary.
On the 3rd of January 2012 hb Nino Bernardo was a guest in "Slavi's Show" where he presented the concepts of wing tsun in front of a wide audience: "... I don't beat up people. The interesting thing about this martial art is that we study the way we behave. I don't know about everybody else, but when I become angry, I become stupid. And when I'm scared, I become dangerous. So when I'm scared and angry, I become a dangerous idiot. But what happens if I'm a dangerous idiot and I've got some knowledge of how to hurt people scientifically? We've got a new problem. I look at this system as a system that helps in anger management. It's a game you play."
In the short time that every TV show has hb Bernardo showed that he feels at home in every TV shoe - he demonstrated his skills as a musician, when he played his ukulele (a miniature four-string Hawaiian guitar) and, of course his mastery of the "sticky hands" method in which his partner was Bojidar Stanchev form Kung-fu Centre "Xuangui". Slavi himself was so stricken with respect by Nino Bernardo's personality and charm that he suddenly took out a small guitar (this time a 5-string guitarro), made by a famous Spanish luthier and he gave it to the master with the sincerest of feelings. The audience really liked the spontaneous jokes the two of them exchanged and the way Nino Bernardo freshened up "Slavi's Show".
